A world view is the beliefs that shape culture. The four most common world views are:
Most Americans, including Christians are none of the above. Most people are syncretists. This means that they make their decisions based on a combination of ideas from several of these world views. According to George Barna in his book RAISING SPIRITUAL CHAMPIONS, 68% of parents today think of themselves as Christians, but only 2% of them have a Christian world view.
If parents and the culture and the world are not teaching children about a Christian world view, then who is? We are! We are Child Evangelism Fellowship, and we have been sharing the good news about Jesus around the world, in the U.S. and right here in east central Iowa. The Hawkeye Chapter teaches about Jesus’ love for elementary school children in nine Good News Clubs in Cedar Rapids, Marion, and Alburnett schools. We have been contacted by several churches and individuals who would like to start clubs in other schools in our area. If you believe in Jesus Christ as your Savior, you too can join in our ministry. Barna writes in his book this challenge: “He (God) placed you here at this time in history to make a difference in the lives of other people. He has not asked you to save the world — Jesus already accomplished that — but He has called you to be an agent of transformation, and there is no better way to fulfill that calling than to focus on discipling children. Are you willing to commit yourself wholeheartedly to that assignment?” You can contact Rod Peyton our director at 319-361-9214 or [email protected] or go to our website cefhawkeyechapter.com for more information.
