Christmas is Coming!

​'Tis a time of excitement when all through the land
Cookies are baking and parties are planned.
Children are counting the days as they pass
Anxious to welcome their last day of class!

Store shelves are brimming with great gifts and toys
That are sure to be purchased for "good" girls and boys.
Evergreens sparkle with tinsel and lights.
Young eyes open wide to take in all the sights!

Gifts are selected and wrapped with great care.
Great expectations are filling the air!
Children are told of a man clad in red
Who brings gifts through the chimney while they sleep in their bed.

Christmas is coming! Time for parties and fun!
But will we remember the gift of God's Son?
From heaven to earth—what a sacrifice made!
As a baby He came...in a manger was laid.

The Savior has come! Angels told of His birth!
They brought tidings of joy and of peace on the earth!
The shepherds made haste when the message they heard!
And when they saw Jesus, they then spread the word!

We have the same message we're commissioned to share!
Go! Tell it on mountains and in streets everywhere!
The message of Christmas must spread through our land!
We must tell every child! We must all lend a hand!

This year for Christmas, let's answer the call!
Let's put Jesus first and give Him our all!
As we spread the Good News and shine forth the Light
Hearts will be changed and made right in God's sight!
