Statues / Night at the Museum

GOAL:

• Catch the Statues while they are moving!

INSTRUCTIONS:

• Set up:
  • Choose one child to be the guard
  • Guard stands in the middle of the “statues” (other kids)

• Play:
  
  • Guard closes his eyes and counts to ten
  • While guard counts all children spread out and form goofy poses
  • Guard finishes counting, opens his eyes, watching for movement
  • Guard walks around the area, statues move into different positions
  • If the guard sees any child move he must call them out
  • The child who is caught sits down until the next round
• Caution:
  
  • Be sure all statues are moving when the guard is not looking.
  • If the children are not moving, give them a ten second count down and if they don’t move within ten seconds, they are out of the game
• Win:
  
  • Last statue (child) “caught” moving wins!

VARIATIONS:

• If you have a large yard or room to play this in you can allow the “statues” to disperse all around the room and the Guard walks around the room looking for movement
