Set up:
- Number children off in teams of 1 and 2 (or according to colors of the parachute)
- Place 10 balls in the middle of the parachute, 5 for each team

Younger Kids Games

Touch the Sky: everyone raises the parachute up as high as they can
Touch the Floor: bring it down to the ground
Waves: all children shake parachute up and down, creating waves
Foot Inside: everyone puts one foot under the canopy
Walk: the group walks in a circle
Underneath: all children run under the parachute when up
Umbrella: all children lift at the same time, float slowly
Dome: all children lift, then pull their handles all the way to the ground and sit down (sitting outside)
Class Picture: all children lift, pull handles down to ground, putting only their heads in the parachute

Two Hand Ball Tag

GOAL:

Don’t get tagged by the ball
Like classic Tag, but you tag each other using a ball thrown with two hands

INSTRUCTIONS:

Set up:
- Choose a child to be “it” and give him a ball
- The “it” child must tag kids by throwing a ball and must use both hands to throw
- Other kids try to avoid being hit by the ball (headshots don’t count)

INSTRUCTIONS:

Set up:
- Choose designated play area
- Have children spread out in area
- Throw 3 foam balls into the play area
- Children who pick up a ball can only take three steps before they throw it

GOAL:

A twist on Tag

INSTRUCTIONS:

Set up:
- Designate play area (establish safety rules)
- Have children spread out
- INSTRUCT: If a child gets tagged by another, he must sit down and wait until the one who tagged him gets tagged. When that happens, they can stand and play again!
- INSTRUCT: If children tag each other at the same time, they play Rock Paper Scissors to decide who sits down
